Kishotenketsu

IMG_7423 (1).JPG

I was assigned to create an 5in x 20in illustration that drew upon the Japanese four part storytelling method of Kishotenketsu. The four parts consist of an introduction, rising action, a climax, and conclusion. This story revolves around a very special bike ride that I had and an important lesson that it taught me. After I finished the illustration, I made it into an accordion book. The covers of the book is a map of where I rode my bike that specific time.

Project length: 3 weeks

Medium: colored pencil and watercolor on paper
