american flag remix

This is my take on a redesign of the American flag. Instead of representing colonies or states, the stars on my flag show the Little Dipper and the Big Dipper, of which the North Star is a part. This was meant as a nod to Harriet Tubman and those who helped her, risking everything for the justice and freedom that America was not providing. It also serves as a reminder that no matter who you are or what your background is, everyone in our country sees the same stars. E Pluribus Unum, the United States' unofficial motto, means "Out of many, one," in Latin, and it pairs with the hands of people from all different races coming together to form the fabric of the flag. Thinking it would be cool to have a physical copy, I found a website that printed flags and had one made for myself!
